Window Problem
Ok, so when I try putting both windows up at the same time, it blows the fuse. Assuming this is not normal, I came here to see if anyone knew what could be wrong? Any help would be great.

Sounds like old motors drawing too much current.
|
The motors in it are pretty new. Any other ideas?

Could be a warped or dirty window regulators. Dirty channels that the glass runs in. Glass could be cockeyed in the regulator casing binding.
Faulty relay? |
I'll check it out tomorrow (its in the shop atm), and let you know if thats it. If I can't get it working, is there a way to install manual windows? The power windows are so slow that it wouldnt even really make a difference :P
|
LOL. You'd have to replace the power window regulators with manual window regs. $50.00 from LMC plus cranks. Probably have to cut a hole in the interior door trim as well.

Unless you really want manual windows...
Get a multimeter and check to make sure theres nothing wrong with the wiring and/or get a window motor kit from lmctruck.com. $169 for a complete kit.

just roll one up at a time:icon_angel:
i had a suburban that was the same way. some windows didnt go down at the driver side, the rear right would blow the fuse going up. i eventually found a parts truck with all manual cranks. electric is nice when it works |
My windows go up so slow I was afraid to try both at once thinking I'd kill the battery! ha ha I thought about manual windows to with the problems I have, and since I'll need new panels anyway it might be worth it.
