Noises
I have a 92 blazer silverado
A couple weeks ago the first noise started, when I start the truck immediately after for a second it sounds like I just stepped on the gas.
Any ideas?
After about a week this noise started, the best way to explain it is, when I accelerate I hear a faint noise that is like when you were young and you put a trading card in the spokes of your bike tires with a cloths peg.
Any ideas? And could they be related?
Now this morning when I popped the hood, my fan belt has some splits in it, so that needs to be taken care of.
Any ideas would be great.

I think mostly deals with the belt or the fan itself. The noise that sounds like your stepping on the gas is probably your fan engaging, which it usually doesn't do until a certain temperature is reached. It could be a fan clutch problem. The spoke sound was probably the belt. But if the fan is off kilter a little bit the it doesn't take much for it to make contact with the fan shroud or any number of things. Take a flashlight and look carefully at the entire area around the fan blade area. See if you see any little rubs. Probably won't be much, so you have to look close. When you have the belt off, try to wiggle the fan. If it moves in any direction besides the way it is intended to move (in a circle), you probably need to replace the fan clutch or possibly the water pump. I would bet on the water pump.
P.S. Also try to wiggle the other components the belt attaches to (alternator, A/C, etc) to see if they move incorrectly.
