Easier way to drain gas tank?
Exited to get our Project BAGB started up... but the gas in the tank is at least 1.5 to 2 years old so I'm thinking I better drain it.
I searched and from what I can tell, there's no drain plug on the tank? Or is there?
The problem, though, is that the rear end is off the truck and it's being held up by some wheels that are under the rear frame/towing attachment. So the fuel tank is sorta being wedged in there.
So what's an easy way to drain? Can't I just unhook the fuel line before the filter and turn on the pump?
If so, how do I turn on the pump??

you can unhook at the filter... and either cycle the key a bunch of times... " i wouldnt do that" or you can jump 12 volts to your fuel pump relay be sure to have something under the truck to catch the fuel!
hope this helps!

It's an 84, it's carbed, and yeah I want to re-use it. Nothing wrong with it other than bad gas inside

oops well through my idea out the window, i was under the assumption that it was TBI....
unfortunatley your probably going to have to syphon it out... and be careful doing it. gas leaves a NASTY taste in your mouth, dont ask how i know hehe

cut hole in the floor above the sending unit. easiest way, by far and safest....

My K5 has such a hole. I will be keeping it, but making it a removable panel that is recessed so as not to stick up in the bed and catch stuff.
If you have an air compressor, you can stick your siphon tube down the filler neck and then pressurize the tank slightly with shop air to start the siphon.
