What year Blazer is this ?
Hello all
I've spotted this Blazer in a yard sitting for years , thought of buying it and turn it into a project as i always wanted a blazer ...I can't locate the owner of this car yet but i'm now wondering.
What year is this Blazer ?
What type of engine does it have ?
In the picture that it shows the engine , I feel there are some parts missing ( or is it just extra space under the hood ? ( I can see the Battery is missing)
the car been sitting there for at least 10 years , does this effect the engine and transmission ? or some little maintenance and tuning will get the car started ?
any suggestions and things to put in mind before considering buying this car and any info about blazers would be really appreciated.
waiting for your valuable feed back

late 70s early 80s, i think the last year for the full convertible top was 75, also the last year for the round head lights were 81 i believe, i owned a 82 and it had square headlights so somewhere around those years.
doesnt really look like much if missing besides the battery and head lights, those engine bays have a lot of room under there seems to be a solid body for just sitting forever

Looking at the headlight trim rings this is either a 79 or 80 model year. See how the turn indicators below the headlights use the same trim ring, that's the give away.
If it has been sitting for more than a few years it is safe to say that it will need a lot of work to get moving again. New tires, probably brakes, if moisture got in the brake lines then new wheel cylinders and calipers. Axle seals will most likely be dried out so a rebuild on both axles, transmission probably a little dry too along with the transfer case. U-joints probably need to be replaced and the drive shaft lubed. Then there is the engine. You will want to drain all the fluids, drop the fuel tank and clean it out, rebuild the carburetor, engine might be ok as is but there are several steps to waking up an older stored engine.
Basically it would be a good idea to start with a rig that has been running unless this has some significant meaning to you.
