Default Let me try again. Windshield Wipers

One of the things I've noticed while addressing issues on my Blazer is the position of the windshield wipers.

Their resting position is pretty much in a horizontal position. Mine are about 1-2 inches higher than their usual position. (see picture)

I pulled them off their base thinking I would just reinstall them a little further down, and now notice the shaft has a key on
it that prevents any sort of adjustment to the wiper arm position.

Can anyone orient me on how they can be moved?

By the way, the 20" Tahoe rims are looong gone. Thing drove like a tank.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

JD

I am not sure but I would think you could go under the windshield wiper cowl and un hook something from the wiper motor to adjust them and then hook it back up?

Yes. One must remove the cowl first, then the wiper control arm is connected with a bar that has a slide adjustment. All one has to do is loosen the two nuts on the adjuster, move the wipers to the correct resting spot, then tighten the nuts again and replace the cowl.

Once I read your response, I did a search on Youtube and a great video popped up describing the whole process in detail.

Thanks for your response - it pointed me in the right direction.

By the way, finally figured out I'm on the wrong Blazer forum. this is a s10 site, and I've got a K5. Sorry bout dat!

We have our own "Full Size K5 Tech" section. I have moved this thread into it.
