west of Death Valley. This road is unmaintained, completely out of cellphone range, the only water is what you have in your car, it runs across exposed large razor sharp quarz rocks where it's just a question of luck whether your tires are blown, day temperatures 120 ºF mid June, didn't see a single soul all day...
To make it short, it's actually quite a bad idea.
Google directions just sends people across there without warning!
I'm happy to report me and my 91 truck made it out alive without any incidents.
(No worries, I was prepared for the worst, but just so you know... never go there unless you've researched what you're getting yourself into. This southern route to Racetrack Playa destroys cars and gives people whiplash.)
