190 hp?
i just watched the episode on horsepower t.v. where they swapped a LS into a 2002 blazer 4WD, all really interesting. but when they did the dyno test on the 4.3 they said it only put out 140 hp? ouch.. i hope i heard that wrong. but the LS put out 300+ hp. thats a bit of an improvement
so only 140 out of the 4.3? interesting..

Stock crank hp is 190 so with the age of the vehicle and normal parasitic power loss, 140 at the wheels doesn't sound too bad to me.
If I recall correctly, with an auto trans normal power loss from crank HP to wheel HP is 15-20% which puts the factory output at roughly 150-160 HP to the wheels, then factor in the fact that it's 13 years old and probably has over 100K miles on it... yup, about right.

Oh now that makes alot more sense, forgot that the 190 was at the crank. But wow 300+ at the wheels With the LS1 (I think it was the ls1) is alot for the blazer. That will chew up and spit out stangs without any problems lol.
