700r4 keeps breaking
I have went through 3, 700r4 4x4 transmissions.
I have a 4000 stall converter behind a 350 maybe 400 hp. Leave @ 4000 run up to 7300 rpm to 2nd back to 7300 rpm then race is over. After 3 or 4 launches the transmission breaks. What can I replace it with.
mabe I wasn't clear . I want a different transmission I'm told a 350 is just as weak. What is strong enough to withstand 4000 (stall ) to 7200 rpm with out spending $40,000 dollars

What is it in? Assuming it is in a truck that is 4wd. Are you set on keeping the 700R4? What and/or where is it breaking? Case, clutch, planetary, sungear, etc? More specific information is necessary to make a recommendation.
1987 and newer 700R4/4L60 are considered to be the strongest factory built versions. There are numerous aftermarket suppliers to increase the reliability for just about any scenario.

I do want a different transmission. The first one came with the running gear. I don't know what went wrong. Shop removed pan and parts were in it. Shop put in a new one, lasted 5 runs and wouldn't move. Shop fixed it 5 runs later won't move. I don't know what went wrong. Shop gave me half my money back and wanted nothing more to do with it
