95 Blazer and 98 parts swap?
 

Just wondering if a 95 blazer LT had mostly interchangeable parts with a 98 LS. I found one for 300$ and they claim the timing chain broke but i havent had a chance to really look that much over. Body is solid and interior is great i just hate to buy a parts truck if only 30% of the stuff would work on mine.

95 was a transition year, I'm not sure of how much will actually swap, never tried lol

Hmm, I think pretty much everything will work. My 97 has a dash from a 99 installed in it so Im guessing everything will work.

The OP is referring to a 95 donor, I know there are several parts that won't swap.

The electrical system & engine are very different. The transmission will not swap due to the changes made between the years. Depending on what transfer case the 98 has, it may not swap either. Don't even try to screw with the dash. It is possible to swap backwards, time wise, but given the amount of electrical 'do-dads' under the dash, putting anything 97-older in will be an electrical nightmare.

As far as what will work, body components for the most part but the electrical options to the doors will be different so expect some annoyances inside if you intend to swap. Radiator core support is different as is the grill/bumpers/etc.

Now this is speaking of direct swap. If you can deal with the annoyances of reconfiguring components, then the options open up a bit.

Yeah, basically adding on to what he said about the electrical components. Just got finished converting a 2000 seat to work in my '96. The wires and wiring harnesses were a bit different and the back right bolt did not line up, so a hole had to be drilled for that. Then since the 2000's had their seat belt connected to the actual seat had to unbolt the seat belt connected to the floor and disconnect the wiring harness to that seat belt.

Ok. Thanks for the info all. the main reason for asking was the interior i.e. front door panels since both of mine have pulled off when you go to shut the doors and i was hopeing for some of the body and axles to swap because i know those can be difficult and or high priced items to find. Also the rear window actuator but that should be easier then it was on my Bronco.
