Default '97 blazer, flywheel replacement HELP

Hello. I have a 97 Blazer 4wd that only has 90k miles on it. I really want to keep the truck but the flywheel went bad and I really don't want to pay a mechanic to do the work. Most have suggested I don't spend the money on this truck anyways, but it is very dear to my heart.

I am in Chicago and if I had access to a garage with a lift, I would do the work myself. Wondering if anyone is near here and would be willing to help!

Would love to continue working on the truck but just need the space. Otherwise I will try to sell it as a parts car or just get rid of it somehow because Ive been having to push it across the street every week because of street sweeping.

Thanks so much for any advice

What's wrong with the flywheel? If it's just missing some teeth so the starter won't engage it, try rotating the engine a little bit by hand, to move the "bad" spot away from the starter. Sometimes, that will let you start it normally, at least until it stops in that spot again. Also, a new starter can sometimes "fix" it enough to get you by for a while.

If the problem is something else, then disregard everything I said.

The best way is to put a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt and turn it with a ratchet. If it has a manual transmission, you can also put it in 5th gear and push it a little.
