Default actuator ripping?

I looked and didn't see it anywhere. Or I missed it.
2000ZR2 BLAZER
4 button I have 3 questions
1. Why do they keep ripping and my 4x4 goes out. All new parts. From the vacuum lines. To the. Actuator cable. I even but the old cable in and it rips.
New tcase motor.
2. Can I do the actuator mod. Even though I have 4button?
This is a trail rig only. I dislike changing an actuator out when im in knee deep mud.
Or can I just put it in 4l and lock it somehow?
Thanks for any and all input.

Just get rid of it!!! I have a full setup for sale in the classifieds section if your interested. Mine never ripped bit I swapped it as a preventative measure and was happy I did cause I never had issues with the posilock setup!
