Default Anyone with APC Speed-Glo gauges?

I picked up an oil temp gauge on clearance from the local pep boys ($5..w00t! ), only problem was that it didn't include full wiring instructions. I got the little inverter box with it, but no idea how to connect the thing to the gauge.

Anyone else here with a gauge from the Speed-Glo series that still has the instructions handy? I don't need scanned in diagrams or anything like that, just what I'm supposed to connect where.

No, it's not like any other gauge, as far as I can tell. It's got the typical studs on the back for +12VDC, ground, and signal from the sender, but it's my understanding that the lighting in the guage needs to be connected to the inverter box to work properly. The inverter box has a red, a white, and two black wires. Logic tells me positive to red, ground to one of the blacks, and the remaining black and the white to the gauge. But then apparently this gauge has the ability to change the color of the backlight, and I'm not sure how that would work.

So I figured I'd ask here before I start experimenting, and potentially fry something in the process.
