axel swap question

I am wanting to swap the ifs front in my 96 s10 blazer. I was just wounder what axels would work. I am want to use a 10 bolt front and a 12 bolt rear you think they will work for a daily driver. I read some where that a dana 30 will fit and I can still use the stock t-case the pumkin will be on the right side. Or would if make more sence to go with the 10 and 12 and change t-case and stuff.

I was also woundering what leafs I should use. front and rear

how did that not help? besides walking you through most of what you're going to need to do (with pictures) it names off like 5 axles and the vehicles you can get them out of?

What more do you need?

he probably didnt see the link hidden in your post lol. took me a second.

the dana 30 is kinda small. unless its gonna be a street truck. try to get a set out of the older smaller broncos or jeep wagoneers. they will be close to the same width. 10 bolts stick pretty far out in some states they have laws against how far a tire can stick out past the fender

AHHH! :icon_doh:
made link easier to find then

if dana 30 is too light, what should he shoot for, the 44? 30 should stand up at least equal to the rear end. should be more than enough for a trail ready/road savvy ride.

BTW: danna 60 in front, corporate 14 in the rear, 4.10s at a minimum, 350 SBC, 4L80E, NP205, 33x12.5 MTs, custom cage, and open trails = my dream Blazer

ABN31B 12-10-2009 04:05 PM

the leaf springs from a dana 30 (cherokee front axle) are said to fit pretty close to as if they had been made for this

fluffy bully 12-22-2009 01:47 PM

ok pick a dana 30 up out of a 87 wrangler (for free) so couldnt turn that down it is complete just needs wheel bearing replaced but it is that vaccum style so my next question is how do i replace that to lock out hubs if there is a way
