We are not able to help you with removal of your cat, Replace it with a new one. Its against federal law to not have one.

Like said it is ilegal to run without Period

Removal of the cat will not fix the check engine light issue so if your area requires emission testing ,it is usually an automatic fail if the light is on

You can buy yourself an aftermarket cat. for a reasonable price

All we can say, is that there is alot of poeple with no cats on their trucks. How they run, we dont know. Google could help you out with your question, but for the love of everyone on earth, please run a cat convertor on your truck.

I can not speak on this, since i bought it without one, but if you want to remove yours, dont, but I have a first gen, but, with having 2 first gens, one with, and now the one without. There is NO benefit of having no cat. Literally not a single benefit. The only thing I notice, is the exhaust smells worse........... so that should tell you enough.

Just replace the cat, straight pipe would require o2 simulators, jegs, Summit Racing... I however chose to replace mine with a magnaflow piece..
