Blazers = Classics??
 

I work at a university and realized that this year's entering freshman class were born the same year as my 1999 Blazer. It got me wondering: When does an S10-Blazer become a "Classic?"

The old rule was 25 years old but that was a few decades ago. What is the rule now?? :-)

I had my Hurst/Olds Insured as a classic at 15 years and then an antique at 25 years.

Classic would mean the attention/demand an auto gets as it gets older. Then gets recognized as a classic. So I believe the Blazer has a way to go yet. There is a difference between an antique and a classic. There are a lot of antique autos with not much demand.... still waiting on my Vette powered Aussie GTO 2005 and my retro 2002 Thunderbird. Production numbers on each are very low with the GTO more so. But the numbers are not everything. Time will tell. As of now I just consider them a fun driving used car.

around here you can get antique plates for anything that is 25 years old. my daily driver is a 1990 pick up i really dont look at it like a classic. i also have a 86 1ton thats in pretty good shape my wife always wants me to put it in car shows, no one even looks at it and i dont blame them to me its still too new. maybe in another 10-20 years the 80s s10s might fall into the classic category or start being collected. i never see them on the road up here anymore

I just passed a article that was saying in a few years that the s10 extremes will become a collector's... other then that, I think that it'll be a big big bit before it gets really hard to come across any blazers
