dam oil filter will not come off

Exclamation dam oil filter will not come off

does any one know any other ways too get a oil filter off

i tryed the oil filter wrench that wraps around it and could not get it to buge ,then i tryed the stabbing a screwdriver all the way through it and still it would not buge,so i riped the housing off to were its just the cap ,then tryed to take a screwdriver and stick it the holes aroud the cap and tryed to tap it loose with a hammer and im still not getting the dam thing to buge ..

any one know what else i could try ?

if you hadn't ripped the housing off, I would say get a big pair of channel locks and try that.

would of tryed that but havent got any channle locks and only people i know with the tools i dont have are about 2-3 hours away from me

hell it broke my oil filter wrench

Put some heat on it, not to much that you ignite the oil & just make sure you're turning it the right way [ lefty - loosey , righty - tighty]

That's just plain weird. Usually the screwdriver through the filter works as the last resort.

If you have'nt got a heat source you can always use the the kitchen oven now you taken the housing off, it will stink a bit.

When you get the old filter off. Make sure to LUBE THE GASKET so it will be easier the next time. When a filter is stuck, it is almost always because the gasket wasn't lubed correctly, or at all. I've had my share of stuck filters because the last place to perform an oil change didn't do this.
