Does this normally happen to a blazer??
The hesitation has been really bad lately, and we've tried a lot of stuff.
Today we were gonna take it uptown (minus a grill and bumper, lol!) and we started it up, and waited to let it warm up (drives better once it's been running). We started hearing some trouble with the engine, like it was skipping (the same thing that happens when we try to drive at first, don't know the word) and I pressed on the gas and it stalled, and we weren't even moving. :icon_doh: I re-started and it automatclly rev'ed to 3 Kpm and then back down to 1 Kpm. Then I drove it around the block, and I didn't have my foot on the pedal the whole time... and itkept speeding up. On one long piece of the road it went from 10mph to 20mph BY IT SELF! Does this happen, normally? |
Sounds like a severe vacume leak.
|
Ok. My dad's taking up-town now, I'll ask if it's better or not.
|
It's not the vacume, my Uncle tested it, plus as my dad said, if that's the case the hesitation would happen all the time, not just when it started up.
We also tried cleaning the fuel injectors, thinking they might have a problem, and that didn't work either. |
My 94 jeep wrangler had an air leak right where the intake manifold bolted to the block. It let in air at the leak and caused the engine to rev at about 3000 rpms all the time. I could drive it around without having to give it gas for the most part. Anyway - I'm thinking either vacuum leak or gasket leak somewhere. Is it making any noises while running? High pitch whine or anything? Have you put a scanner on it?
|
Dunno about my scanner, my dad might now. I don't hear any noises, no.
|
my aem intake comes looser every now and then and when it does it hesitates and barely moves then you put on the gas and it stalls, gotta put it back on the manifold and tighten up my screw and im fine
