Front Diff Drain Plug
 

I just seen a youtube video on a guy saying his 96 Blazer 4x4 didn't have a drain plug on the front Differential... That seems odd 2 me, maybe he just couldn't find it? I have a 98 4x4 and I have a drain plug on the front Diff... Has anyone out there heard about this before?

Nope but it wouldn't surprise me. I've seen more than one rear without a drain plug.

Sometimes they just put a cover on with a fill plug. This way the person doing the fluid service has to remove the cover to replace the fluid. This makes sure that almost all of the fluid is removed and that the differential can be cleaned. This also allows for the gasket to be replaced so that there isn't a leak later on down the road. I'm not really sure why they do this on certain vehicles and not others. It almost seems random when they do it sometimes. However all is normal just a little extra work.
