I wish I could have my old G80 in the Cobalt, being open really sucks, even in a car.

1sttime, the g80 came from a 7.6" rear so splines are probibly the same,
but yes to the set-up, the axle housing i have is going to the scrap yard you could just buy the axles and g80, then just have some one install for u |
Notsure what you mean by a 7.6 rear?Mine is 8.5 10 bolt corporate housing.Came out of 95 z71.Even if yours was the right size by the time I gave you your asking price plus shipping I couldnt justify the cost.As of right now Im going with the Carrier assembly and pinion gear and transfering it into my housing.Im going into uncharted territory but I have an expurt thats nursing me thrugh this setup so i should be ok.I would have just swapped the complete axle housing and all but its in bad shape. The bottom of it sat in mud for over a year and I took off probaly 7/16 worth of scale rust cleaning it up.I got it all ground nice and smooth then fabbed a piece of 3/8s plate to weld on it.Im going to use than for another setup later down the road.So anyway My truck will have 3.42 gear ratio would should be alot better than the 3.08`s especialy since most of my driving is intown.
