Got my Blazer!!!
:icon_dance-tap: Yipee! I finally have a 99' Blazer LS. But, after spending a few months followinf this forum, I kinda wonder if this may be one of those " Be careful what you wish for". Well, if it turns out to be a bitter-sweet experience, at least I know I am in good company.
I'll post some pictures as soon as I can wash the snow, salt & ice off the ol' gal. However, as I am in Minnesota, that may be sometime in July. The vehicle is in pretty good shape, but i do have a rear winndow wiper motor that doesn't work, and I think there is a bit of a gas smell when i exit the vehicle. But, you know how a fuel smell lingers when its -10-20 below zero. I may be a bit anal about this stuff, but I was raised on a 55' Chevy, a 1968 GTO (new), and Navy aircraft. I guess I expect the Blazer should perform equally as well. Hope I'm not proved wrong. Any comments? |
Being in MN and all i'd definetely keep your 4 wheel drive system in top shape but you probably know that. Have the coling system checked, flushed and bled for good measure and replace your rad cap and t-stat. I say this because you don't know what the last guy/gal did for maintenance if any at all, and there can be costly repairs inorder WHEN the intake gaskets fail. Maintain it and get the most life you can. Get the diff oil and t-case fluids replaced and have a trans shop do a proper flush, filter, and solenoid change.

Gotcha. The torque converter is new, and the tranny fully serviced in september. All new oil cooler lines, brake pad, calipers & rotors, ball joints, steering arm, and O2 sensor. don't know about the intake gaskets. Think it will make it to Spring?

Awesome, what part of MN?

Location
I am from the Stillwater, MN area, but I hope to return to Florida, for a while, where my daughter lives. Came back to MN to specifically buy a Blazer.

I'll post some pictures when things thaw out a bit, and I can wash some snow, ice and salt off the Blazer. She's kind of a mess right now.:icon_frown:
