Hi , is there a GMC Jimmy forum ?
I own a 2000 4dr. GMC rwd Jimmy with the 4.3v6 w engine , with the SLT trim. So are there differences between the Chevy Blazer & the GMC Jimmy in electronics , or mechanicals , or suspension ? help will be greatly appreciated , Thanks !!

Pretty much the same animal under the skin.

Yeah, they're basically the same vehicles. Maybe trim levels or interior is a little different, but mechanically they're the same.
Plenty of Jimmy owners here, as well, so feel welcome, and don't hesitate to ask any questions! |
I take care of both myself, 99 blazer lt 4x4, and a 2000 gmc jimmy slt.
I've take parts from my jimmy to put on my blazer to get it running, I have yet to come across something I haven't been able to swap... hell, those plastic pieces at the bottom of the slt's are growing on me. Wonder what they would look like on a blazer with my flares lol :icon_beamme: |
Others have already beat me to the punch :) Heck, even the S10 pickup and GMC Sonoma are almost completely interchangeable with the Blazer and Jimmy...
|
From what I've gathered, the differences will be in exterior trim pieces, interior trim and a few electronics for different amenities such as lighting and HVAC controls. They use the same basic wiring harness with different sub-harnesses added as they do for the submodels on the Blazers.

Hi , thanks to all who replied to my questions , I thought Blazers & and Jimmy's had interchangeable parts & wanted to make sure . After spending some time reading the differing posts , I figured I'd get a straight answer . Thanks again !
