Just put in a new tank because I couldnt put more than a 1/2 tank in. Funny thing, a year ago when I put in my new pump there was one hole in the top that I patched. Just shows how fast rust goes once it starts.

Holy crap! I've seen boneyard tanks in better shape than that! If that didn't set a P0455, there's something wrong with your PCM! Better send a bill to MA DOT for using too much salt on the roads.

Right! New England winters. Didnt put any of the old gas in the new tank. New tank, new pump, new lines and new spider. Should be set in the fuel system dept for a while |
I hate to see what my tank looks like being my vehicle has been in Michigan all its life.

When I built my 4x4 toy out of a totaled 92 jimmy it had the usuall 1/4 of a tank and out of fuel sending unit problem - so when the check valve also went out of the pump I dropped the tank - And while cleaning up the tank there was a small leak back where the rear cross brace is from mud and pebbles building up over the years - So new sending unit , pump and repaired the leak - then I took it one step further and cleaned exterior of the tank well and coated the tank with a good coat of plasti-coat truck bed liner - It might be a step you might want too give a try while tank is down for the typical pump / sending unit replacement - especially for those of you where they salt the roads
