How long will a Blazer last?
I'm looking at a '94 Blazer S-10 with 125k miles on it. It has the 4.3l V6 with about 160hp and a manual tranny. I'd like to get it, but I'm worried that it might be too old and worn out to be worth it. That said, I have no problems replacing some parts, that's just fun. But how long can I expect the expensive parts to last?

Ain't no telling man, might last forever, might fall apart as soon as you leave in it.
Really it all depends on well it has been maintained and taken care of. |
like DySfUnCtIoNaL said, depends on how well it was taken care of, if you want it go check it out, bring a jack, jack it up check the hubs etc, just take a look at it like you would before you buy any car
my truck has 199k on it about to go over to 200k, and still going strong, but i keep it in good shape |
I had one come in for a oil change and it had over 300,000 miles on it , and still looked as good as mine , My blazer is a 94 also . And I'm in NY where rust is on most vehicles that are 10 years or older . With frequent oil changes , and if you keep up on the general maintenance they'll last a very long time . If its not driven like I drive mine anyway , and mines still going real strong . I have a automatic I wish it was a standard .

Thanks guys, good to know that there is hope :) I'm negotiating price now, we'll see what happens.

They last as long as any vehicle until they quit & you quit fixing them.

Most of my experience with GM's leads me to use this 'rule' for buying them...
If it rattles around and squeaks from the 'Non-Engine' areas.. It's probably going to nickel and dime you to death.. I've only had 1 pontiac that didn't follow this rule, and it burned up pretty quick after I brought it.. |
I am the original owner of my daily driver an 89 S15 Jimmy with 428K on the odometer. I keep up with anything that needs repair. The junkyard is one of my favorite hunting grounds for OEM trim, bolts and out of production parts.

my 93 has 203,000 on it, bought it 3 years ago and beat the heck out of it offroad, never any trans or engine issues yet

Right to my point they will last until you quit fixing them.
