Looks like Mr. VLS is the high-mile champ of this thread at 430k!! WOW! Congrats on that milestone!
With our transplanted engine at somewhere around 160k, I yanked it to fix all the irritating & expensive oil leaks. Did everything except the one year old intake manifold gaskets, which I reused (Fel-Pro) - valve seals, crank seal, rear main seal, timing cover gasket, exhaust manifold gaskets, head gaskets, pan gasket and valve cover gaskets are all new Fel-Pro.
While I had the heads off, I checked out the cylinders - they look great! No ridge at the top either. Can still see the factory crosshatch pattern after all these years. So, while it was out and apart, I installed a Crane Cams timing chain (like 5x the size of the factory one), and a new Melling OEM pressure oil pump and screen. Now this engine should be good to 300k + I would think.
We're at about 165k on that engine now.

156,000 on 1988 Blazer 4x4, Sold it but still running good.
178,000 on my 1997 Blazer 4x4 My daily driver
535,000 on a 1993 S-10, 2.8 w/manual tranny. Was the original owner and had 2 miles on her when purchased. No major mechanical issues just a worn out water pump and alternator. Was still running strong but a mishap with a 5-gallon gas can in the bed sparked a fire and she went out viking style

WOW I think that's the new record! Over half a million miles! Surprised to see those miles out of a 2.8 - usually something in the valve train breaks - at least that's been my experience. Certainly not many make it that long!
