Default How often do you go through brake pads/rotors?

I just saw another thread by 88camino talking about brakes, I didn't wanna hi-jack that one so I figured I'd make this one. Simple question, how often do you go through brake pads and rotors?

I've had my '89 Blazer for a little over a year now, and I replaced the pads, rotors, and shoes when I got it, and they're still going strong. I get a little brake squeal first thing in the morning, but it's gone by the time I hit the first stop sign. And that's driving a decent amount, I've put about 6k miles on it in the last year.
On the other hand, with my '83 FireChicken, I was swapping pads probably about every month or so. The damn thing was so front heavy, about a 75-25 weight distribution if I remember correctly.

The pads I have now i put on in the spring and they need to be replaced. Put about 6k miles on them. i think its due to all the dirt and mud though.

Bought my truck new in Oct '00 and now have 188,XXX miles on it. In that time I've replaced the pads once all around but had to replace the rear rotors shortly afterward due to one of the calipers hanging up on me.

IIRC, I changed them out around 75-80K miles and still have the stock pads on the shelf in the garage as they still had plenty left to them. I check my pads every time I change the oil and they still have some life left.

Driving styles vary so I'm sure some get a lot less mileage out of theirs and some may get more.

My pads last about 9000 miles, and I still have the same rotors from like 12000 miles ago and they are still pretty good. I do a lot of in town driving and with the dumba$$es here that means a lot of slamming on the brakes, hence my investment in a brush guard. =]

With my 96 jimmy I changed 3 times in a year and a half or about 35000 miles total. They were only worn about half way but were so glazed over that they were useless.

I got my '02 a year ago last Sept. Brakes started to go a couple months ago (they were OEM) so I looked on ebay & got a 4 pc. set of cross drilled & chamfered rotors & semi metallic pads for $200 delivered! Plus they anti corrision coated the rotors (galvanizing spray) gold for free. They work really well now.
