Exclamation If I have it pulled home will it junk my 4wd?

I have a 95 blazer ls 4wd and it died on me. I had to leave it overnight but must return shortly to have it pulled home, bout 4-6 miles. I am simply using a tow strap/chain to save on tow bill. When it died and I pulled off the road as best I could, it kept spinning in the mud so I had to put it from 2HI to 4HI to get it out. My alternator needs replaced and it wont run long enuf to switch it bak into 2HI. As long as I have it in Neutral, will it damage the 4WD system if we pull it home while its still in 4HI? Nvr had a 4x4 so I am at a loss and prefer to ask before I junk ne thing getn it home.

I dont have another battery, so would it be ok to pull it? I have to have it moved when it gets light out, or else the owners of the property its on will have it towed so the less time the better...as long as it wont damage ne thing. I just need to no if it will hurt it to pull it or not.

No it shouldn't hurt anything. But what CenTex said, you can bring another battery to start it and take it out of 4WD, but i dont know if it will last the 4-6 miles if you try to drive it

Go slow as to not make heat, it will be ok. Or get a battery, it will go 6 miles easy on just battery

Yeah the only problem is the transmission fluid wont be cooled with the engine off. But keep it at 20 or under and you should be fine.

I will b driving the vehicle pulling it and plan on goin about 30mph the whole way...i will try and get find a battery to last long enuf to get it bak in 2wd but if I cant then I may try and just hook up jumper cables and let it charge my battery for half hr or so then start it and hope it works long enuf to get the switch done. Im sooooo glad to hear it will b ok to pull it if i have to though. As a girl who loves her Blazer and can do most basics on my own, I'm at a loss when it comes to 4WDs caus its my 1st one. So all help is GREATLY appreciated

As for the tranny coolant, does that even matter as long as I pull it in neutral?
