Long or Short wheel base?

You may have seen my other thread asking for help on which generation truck and blazer to rebuild...1st or 2nd.
Another subject that I am wanting your advice on is wheel base.
Which is best for towing?I am experienced with the longer extended cab 4x4 and I think it does very well except while making sharp turns.I have had my loads almost push me over a hill on numerous occasions. In all fairness the turn was about 90 degrees with light cinders on blacktop and the truck bed was empty. The smaller wheel base are great for turning in the woods and stuff like that but are they better for towing?
Thanks for looking and for your advice in advance.

For towing and plowing, a longer wheelbase is usually more stable. A shorter wheelbase is always better for the trails IMO, especially for rock crawling. Makes maneuvering in parking lots and such easier also.

Thanks Jimbotopotomous for you input.I was just curious.I was thinking about weight distribution on the shorter wheel base.It seems like it would be better but the longer does great.Heck unless I'm on one of WV's bigger hills,I don't even know I have a vehicle behind me.
I appreciate the help.
