Looking for a project

I'm thinking about getting another Blazer to do some off-road, 4x4 stuff. I really like the look of the K5 Blazer, but know very little about them.

I guess what I want to know is, when I do go looking at them (craigslist or whatever), what should I look for? Is there a particular year that is better than others? What kind of investment should I be prepared to make?

What do I need to know?!?

Thanks, in advance.

To answer your question seriously many may dissagree but stay away from 96 Jimmys and up.Numerous problems nothing but a mechanics nightmare.Stay oldschool and save yourself some grief.the only thing I have good to say about the newer models is there looks. If your going to get a newer one try and find one with very low miles otherwise your going to find yourself working on it all the time.

I have a 99 Blazer, so believe me, I know about that haha.

As far as where to stay? I'm originally from Michigan, myself. ;)
