mini rant

Well. I sold my blazer saturday. i picked up a 94 gms sonoma ext cab 4.3 from a private party. Well,it needs some work.Just more then i bargained for.

abs/brakes system was bad. which i knew about, and since there was little to no brake pressure i babied it on the test drive. I picked up the whole front brake setup off a 80's s10 today. spent 5 hours installed everything. Got that fixed. good brakes! Spent enough at the dmv to get everything transfered etc. Now i went out to really test drive it. Upon a good wot i found out trans is shot (4l60e) When i floor it the trans screams for mercy and grinds,no shift. and after i discover that tonight 5 min later my temp gauge starts rising. I managed to get it home before it hit red. From the looks for what i could see the block to gasket side of the waterpump let go.

So. i spent what i got for my old blazer,on this. and now ive got 20.00 in my pocket and little work. Im sitting here wondering wtf i can do.

Sup? :icon_handball:

Wait. when is this money ripe?

chris015 02-07-2013 07:55 AM

Only when the fat lady sings.

Thogert 02-08-2013 12:35 AM

So why do all those guys get stickers that say 'no fat chicks?' Seems like a poor money management decision.

Well its a good thing you have this forum.

You can find a junkyard trans for cheap, or maybe someone in the local buy/sell has one that's already out you can buy.

The waterpump leak shouldn't be an issue.

I think with a little looking for a trans, maybe a couple hundred bux, and 10 hours of your time you will be rolling again.

chris015 02-08-2013 10:35 PM

Yea. finding parts isnt the issue. issue is just money etc. I fixed the waterpump and still had a slight overheat issue. to find out it was the stat. So,fixed that. now only the driveline.
