Default NEED ADVISE! TRADE FOR K5??

I have a 1994 S10. It's in beautiful condition. I have fallen in love with the K5 and recently came across one. 1987 K5 w/ Silverado pkg. Its in excellent condition. 94k original miles. He is willing to do an even trade, and really likes my truck. I want to make sure I'm making the right decision. My blazer has 130k miles, and never gave me a problem. I drove the K5 the other day, and inspected it very closely, not a single thing wrong with it. no a single stain on the seat, not even a tear. Engine has no problems what so ever, and trans from what I can tell has been taken car of. Should I go for it?? I need some advise.

if it is what you both really want to do and it checks out fine. then yeah do it. also, do you want it bad enough that you would be willing to do some work to it? if you really wanted that bad, then a little here and there wouldnt scare you away right? let me know what you decide and if you get it, post some pics!

Yeah, I'm going to make a final decision by next weekend and we'll see what happens. The guy is somewhat the original owner. He bought it new for his wife, and she drove it everyday, then they split up and ended up taking the truck. He's had it ever since and drives it everyday now, but wants something smaller for better gas mileage. I don't mind working on the truck at all. I've been a mechanic all my life, and my father is a certified mechanic as well, but this is going to be my daily driver, so thats why I'm concerned.

ah i can see your conundrum. that makes it a little tougher. maybe a second cheaper car in a year or so to split it up? you gotta love those multiple car discounts on insurance!

I am biased....I love the full sized Blazers, I presently have 4 of them.
I would suggest looking the truck over very carefully for rust in the rocker panels, lower edges of the doors, around the seat belt bolts on the rear panels just behind the "B" pillars and the floor pan where it meets the tailgate........I'll see if I can find some pics.
I'm fortunate to not have to worry about fuel milage but that's something to consider.
I love the power, clearance, interior room, body lines and removable tops.

These pics are from a '90 Blazer I bought in March '07. The last pic is before I started the restoration. It looked pretty good but still had a fair bit of rust. I'm hoping to have it finished and on the road in about 6 weeks.
The green '74 convertible has been an ongoing project for about 6 years....started with the frame and worked up.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
