Nooo!!!!

On my way home from work just now..

A little rock jumped up and cracked my windshield..

was about a inch big its been 45 mins its already a foot long...

Sigh..... :icon_no:

Recommendations? i think its a lost cause to try to fix it probably..

Never bought a windshield before, hoping they dont cost an arm and a leg..

Frankiesurf 06-24-2010 09:19 PM

Yea, that is beyond fixing.

Does your insurance cover glass?

oktain 06-24-2010 09:28 PM

I was quoted ~180 bucks for a new one here...

wlorton 06-24-2010 09:42 PM

210 Here... and that was installed

old skool luvr 06-24-2010 10:31 PM

that sucks.

i know i can get a PPG one from my glass supplier for $103 (including 2 tubes of urethane for the install).

and make sure you use 2 tubes when you install the new one. any less, and you run a good chance of having it leak.

just go to the junkyard and get a windshield and then take it to get installed

DKSDAD 06-24-2010 11:03 PM

That sucks, unfortunatly it will need to be replaced. Got lucky last windshield I had replaced was done under insurance, it cost me $20.00 for a tip and the shop waived the deductable.

I bought a new one for my Blazer last year because it had a slight crack in the top and the police station where I live refused to give my a test in my car even though the crack wasn't big enough to be illegal and it wasn't in my field of view. Anyways, mine cost me $180 for installation and everything.

good luck on finding a shop to install a used windshield that you're supplying. :icon_razz:

My thoughts exactly... "We can't garauntee the soundness or quality of the windshield, so NO" is probably something along the lines of what you'll get from them.
