obd2 code scanners worth it?
Being a newb at troubleshooting vehicles, I do feel blind as a bat. Been looking into getting a obd2 code scanner to help troubleshoot and get to bottom of why somethings not working right. Has anyone had experience with these scanners like the one listed below? Are they worth their weight in gold? More specifically, how is it for scanning Abs and transmission problems? ( I know it cant scan all transmission problems). Thanks.
Equus 3150 Innova ABS + Professional CanOBD2 Diagnostic Code Scanner for OBDII Vehicles 3150 is only $70 over the 3100, seems like its worth the extra cost to me. |
Readers are magical tools everytone should have in a utility box. always handy.

what year is your blazer, it might be a obd1. which has nowhere near the scanning capabilities.

Or a '95 OBD1.5 or OBD-II, neither of which has as much scanning capabilities as later ones either.

I've been using this low cost obd2 scanner with this GM diagnostic software tool.
What a great combo, I can erase ABS, Air Bags and special obd2 gm codes. |
