Ok so I bought a 2003 Blazer with 43K miles nice condition, working well, little old lady owned drove to church on Sundays type of thing.

I have concerns regarding what could be a 7yr old battery. The battery is Delco, it is clean and inside of the factory padded blanket type enclosure with the flip to padded lid. It is possible at some time she had an OEM style replacement battery put in. I can decode none of the numbers on the battery as relating to installation date or manuf. date code.

Any idea of how to date this battery. It gets cold here in the winter, sub 20 below F and that can be a killer to old batteries.

What says the hive mind?

Of course this information was as close as a google search. http://www.acdelco.com/parts/battery...y-warranty.jsp

My date code was P0309r So March of 2009 P series 6yr warranty manufacturing plant R.

So I should be good to go with this battery for a few yrs.

I would just take it by Autozone or something and have them check it out they should be able to tell you when it was manufactured. If it was in fact made in 2009 you should be good to go for a few years still.
