Priming your oil filter when you change your oil

Who else pre-fills the oil filter before putting it on? I do when possible.

Doesnt realy need to be done since the oil pump is in the bottom of the oil pan thats where the engine gets it priming.I lube the seal scre it on and thats it.Fire it up Go

About 7 or 8 years ago I did a course on a CAT Diesel engine. AT that time they said NOT to fill the oil filter because that puts un filtered oil in the engine.
Personally I never fill them unless it is a brand new engines first start.

I lube the seal and generally call it good. Sometimes out of boredom on something with a vertical mount I'll dump a little in, but don't get super involved.

How do you prefill a filter that mounts sideways?
