removing side trim.
Ive been thinkin about removing the side trim on my blazer.
I know many of you have, and can you guys post some pics of it without it? and how did you go about removing it? |
I'm hoping to do the same on my Jimmy soon. I read through a lot of past threads just now and the general consensus was heating it up with a heat gun and running braided (not mono) fishing line back and forth under it to separate the two sided tape from the paint. After that use goo gone to remove the residue. Then wash, clay bar and wax.

^^ That's what I did on my last Blazer to remove the badges.
Just be careful with the heat gun. Too much heat and the paint will begin to bubble. |
well, cbr knows it isnt the day to do anything in florida. storms storms and more storms.

here is a side pic after I removed it all and primered it. I had some body work to do on it so thats why I primered the whole thing. Also when I removed the ones in the sides of the bumper there were holes behind it because they were installes using plastic rivets or something like that if I remember so I had some fiberglass work I needed to do. This is before the shackles and body lift in case anyone was wondering why it looks lower in this pic....LOL
