Replaced my Alternator, truck runs 100 Times Better!!!

I wanted to know if anyone knows why that after I changed my Alternator yesterday morning, my truck runs SOOOOOO much better!!!!!!! It had been going bad for awhile, it was stubborn some mornings and others it was fine.

The bearings finally became so loud on the way to work last night that I barely made it home after work.

But anyway, I went to the parts store, changed it in the parking lot, and now it runs like a brand new truck. The entire truck is quiet, runs smooth, and I actually have all my power back.

Does anyone know why this is, is it because maybe the bearings in the alternator were causing my motor to work harder? But yeah, here's a picture..

And yes, Engine bay is Quite dirty lol

Lol.. I'm glad you got it fixed. But that wasnt the bearings you were hearing, alt bearings can only make so much noise. It was the belt slipping on the alt pulley. Bet the old belt was pretty bad shape, huh.

Did you, btw, happen to notice what was going on with that 'volt' thingy on the dash? Might have give a clue.

If it was the bearing, all the $hit that coulda got into it by the looks of that engine bay doesnt make it much better then what it coulda been

well if it was the bearings it would have been putting extra load on the engine, but usualy when they get that loud its the diodes inside full wave rectifier thats shot and screaming, leaking out ac voltage which the computer and engine sensors dont like and start acting funny.

Yeah I know, the engine bay is pretty nasty, I've been through some bad ****...

And actually, still the same belt, it was replaced recently so I didn't need to get a new one...But the Noise was coming straight from the Alternator, no belt noise what so ever.

This looks to be the best idea so far, I should have video taped it to show you guys, it was freaking defining!!!

I'll ask again.. what was the voltmeter doing while all this racket was going on?

My bad man, didn't realize you even asked that..But yeah, it started to dip to about 8 to 9 volts as I was driving home from work, then out of the blue shoot right back up to 13/14. The Noise would stop whenever it wanted to, and I realized it acted better if I wasn't moving.
