Rubbing Compound
 

A little while back I was wanting 2 buy some new driving/fog light assemblies for my 98 Blazer LT 4x4... I seen a youtube video and the guy used a product called 3 M Rubbing Compound and I was amazed how clean and brand new looking his lights looked! I have seen the toothpaste thing and a few others but that 3 M stuff is totally legit! Now I will see just how long it lasts for a follow up report back here in case anyone is wondering :)

I would follow up the rubbing compound with some polishing compound. Rubbing compound is to get the rough spots out of paint, polishing compound is to remove the swirl marks from the rubbing compound. May be different on plastic, though. Let us know.

It has been about a week and a half since I used that rubbing compound on the lights and they still look brand new :) I know it hasn't been very long, but so far so good. I didn't use the polishing compound like suggested. I actually forgot about it lol...

If they look good with just the rubbing compound I wouldn't worry about using the polishing compound. Glad to hear it has worked out great for you!
