Rust!

I have a '99 2 4wd door blazer, w/ 90k miles on it. It's rusting in front of the rear wheel wells. Is this a big deal? It's annoying because my blazer is white, and it still runs great (aside from the ride). Should I fix it or will it just come back immediatly? It's really the only place it's rusting. Funny thing, it's been garage kept since new in '99 and is well taken care of.

So body and ride are crap, but runs like a champ. I was thinking about getting something new recently, but my blazer isn't dead yet and I still love it. All I'd like to do is fix the rust and make it ride a bit smoother.

I would do something like this to your vehicle, I am going to do it to mine soon ( I have a 2003, i think it looks good, and it will prevent rust) http://www.linex.com/gallery/images/...Protection.jpg

That looks interesting. Like a spray on bedliner for the outside.

My rust is comming from the inside out I believe. On other spots, like the hood, I have a couple of stone chipped bare metal spots that never even thought about rusting. But in front of the wheel wells, the paint bubbled up one day and has since been deteriorating at a quick rate.

Your best bet is to lightly grind it until there is no rust. If you still have solid metal then prime it and paint it. If you have holes you should put some fiberglass on it and bondo. Then prime and paint it.

Do it soon before it gets too bad.
