Service Engine Soon light
Ok I am pretty sure this has been asked and answered but I have not been able to locate it. So here is my problem
I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer LS 4 door 4 wheel drive, My service engine soon light is on. I have a obdII scanner and when I try to use it it says it can not link to my truck. I took it to O reillys and used there tools and again it says it can not link to my truck. I have the port under neath my dash. I tried the paper clip thing, but the top 2 ports on the right of my plug has no metel pieces in it to connect to. I think they say they are ports A and B. I can not seam to figure out how to read my codes any other way. I do know its one of those stupid transition years where they say its obd1.5 So how do I read my code? I am at a loss. |

Answer: if your OBD1.5 ECM is under the hood, you dont. If it's in the cabin, you can jump-read it. http://forums.s-series.org/styles/pr...ost_target.gifby coolram » Mon Jan 17, 2005 3:31 pm My '95 Jimmy is OBD 1.5(has the computor inside the cab but with 16 pin ALDL).I can read codes using a paper clip to jump the terminals(3rd and 4th terminals from the right on the top row are ground and diagnostic).Another signal your'e OBD1 or 1.5 is having 1 O2 sensor before the Cat.Having 2 O2 sensors(1 before and 1 after the Cat)is definitly OBD 2(now early '95 CA smog trucks I'm not |
