Shift Kit?

So I've been told by a couple people that I have a shift kit in my K5. My truck lunges forward right before I shift and it's really noticible when shifting into 2nd. Is this true? And if so what exactly does a Shift Kit do?

A shift kit reprograms the shift characteristics of the transmission. Typically they make shifts quicker which reduces heat and wear. The down side is, shifts are quite noticeable.

Ah... I see. Well alright then. That makes me feel better, I was worried that something was wrong.

Thank ya!
