Small accident this morning
This morning in the school parking lot I got into a very minor accident. I was pulling into the space not realizing that the lot was glare ice (the school doesn't even salt the lot and we still have the pay for "maintenance") and slid into the front of his car. He was a few cars away and saw what happened. He came over and said everything was fine, no need to do any thing just a bent license plate and a small crack in his bumper.
My only damage was this, nothing worth crying over http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...3/104_0615.jpg |
****ty.. Make the school pay for it.

go find the kids tat do the news paper class and see if they can dig up how many students pay "maintenance fees" and how much of that money goes into repainting the lines every 3 years.... have em dig up the cost of spreading de-icer say once a week or so and cause a stink through them. use the power of the press to turn your fellow inmates into a mob. whip them up into a frenzied mass of toilet paper burning, matress throwing, duct tape armored tooth brush shivving anti-parking fee maniacs! it would be fun, and you could probably write a paper on it for psychology and get some credit out of the deal (or some other such craziness) would be a fun experiment, and all the leg work would be on the journalism folks :icon_evil: |
Every student who parks in the lot has to pay $50 a year for a pass. With around (just a guess) 200 students that's $10,000. I do not see $10,000 worth of police/maintenance going on. I think last week they finally laid down sand on ONE corner, not the whole lot, just one corner.
Student and parents have been complaining about the fee and the "maintenance" forever since it's a public parking lot anyways |
thats BS.... spin up the journalisn nerds! Loose the Dogs son!
|
Every class before us and every class after us is going to complain to the principal. Our words have fallen on deaf ears for so long it doesn't even pay to fight anymore

DEF try and get them to fix it.... That is bullsh**........ The school should keep the lot safe... What if some poor smuck was standing right in between where you slid into the other car... He would have been FU**ED!!!!!!!

thats why i'm saying turn the press against them. you can have your class pres piss and moan, but in the end, it counts for nothing. get the cages rattled in the entire school with a crappy news paper story (again you do nothing but bring it up) and you may not see any pay off at all. but you're out 5 minutes of your time.
i would do it just because im an insitgator at heart :icon_shrug: would be pretty funny to see though. Your school rescourse officer if provided by the city and is paid as such. unless you have a private guard staff, the $$ from the parking passes doesnt go to cover your tubby cop that floats around. a bit of de-icer and 4 yards of sand aint asking a lot.... stir the pot man.... stir the pot! you may just find that you like manipulating people's emotions to dance like the puppets they are to the tune you provide... :icon_teeth: <-- it's one of the best "life skills" you will pull out of your time in high school. like dimone545 said; run with the safety angle too. You can "what if" a situation into the ground, or "what if" terror into the very hearts of the people... Find the teacher that fills the role of english what ever and journalism. Chat him/her up a bit like: "Hey Mr(s). Teacherface, I was involved in a slight accident this morning in the pay-to-park lot. It got me thinking about things.... I was wondering if your students had ever done an article on what exactly the parking pass money goes to support, yyou know maintenance and all. I would like to see it if they have....What's that, they haven't...Interesting.... By my math we (the students) drop about $10,000 on what exactly? Might make an interesting story if one of you sychopantic news paper kids are short a story idea." *drop a shrug right there and turn to leave* Then as you walk out the class, drop this little seed of doubt: "Hmmm i wonder what a few bags of de-icer and some sand to keep the lot safe would cost for the winter.... I bet it beats the cost of a lawsuit if someone got pinched in between to cars...." strings tied up nicely, now you just kick back and make your puppets dance... |
I am going to play devil's advocate here and say "Man up". Ice is a factor you should be prepared for. Ultimately, you are responsible for the safe operation of your vehicle. :icon_wink::icon_shrug::icon_couchhide:
Who's to say that they didn't salt like they were supposed to and that area was just unusually wet/icy? It is often easier to blame someone else though.:icon_doh: |
Because they made it only a pass parking lot they turned into a private area... They now are held liable to things that happen there. If they are going to make people pay to use their property then the property should be kept to a certain standard. I am sure that if you really wanted to make a big deal about it you could find a lawyer that would eat the school alive....
swartlkk , I do see your point but I jsut think that because its a private parking lot they should be held accountable for the condition of it. If it was a free public lot then that would be a different story. |
