Spot Lights in Front of Grille
2 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
I have a 2002 GMC Jimmy. I would like to install some small square 3" spot lights in front of my grille, much like this: https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1423686772 How would I attach my own to a similar effect as above? The grille is all plastic. I suppose I would have to make some brackets that connect elsewhere for structural support and reach down to the base of the grille. How have others done this? Help me brainstorm. Thanks! |
I think the easiest way would be to drill holes in the bumper and just run a bolt through it. Unless you're trying to keep from doing that, then I guess you could go through the trouble of making your own bracket. Also, have you thought about using LED's? I'm personally in love with them since they use a lot less power and give equal to or more light than regular off road lights. Plus, I have never had to touch a relay since the LED's draw so little power.

Ya the lights I have in mind are in fact LED's.
Won't drilling through the plastic bumper cover still be too flimsy? That is my main concern with that idea. |
What kind of road/trails are you going to be using this on? If it's not bumpy to the point where things on the inside are shaking then you should be fine.

I would just fab up a little "L" shaped bracket and go behind the grill and down to the core support or metal bumper
