Default Is there a difference in s-10 blazers???

I have a 99 blazer 4×4 s-10 automatic tranny. I pulled a tranny from a junkyard since mine quit right after a rebuild. The tranny works great but i cannot get the shifter lever on the column into 3rd, 2nd, 1st, gear...is the s-10 blazer different from a normal one?? Did I put in the wrong tranny?? Also I'm pretty sure the tranny pump was the only thing wrong before (but it's cheaper to pull a whole tranny then to buy the pump lol) any help or insight would be appreciated

I had an issue where the little cable would not indicate what gear it was in, it also would not line up. This was on a 1994... VERY hard to get to, but it eventually "kind of" got fixed. Your 1999 may or may not be the same.

Yes, there are some minor year-by-year differences, they basically got more luxurious right up until the last year of 2005 for the regular Blazer (always was dumb to me how they also have Trailblazer but whatever) and as far as I know they were ALL 4L60-E; No comment on GMC interchange.

Yes, they are all 4L60E auto trans but they are not all the same. GM makes on going upgrades and improvements. This means there are changes in the trans from year to year--some significant. You need a trans. specialist to explain these details to you. But you need to start by telling us what year trans you got out of the junkyard. If you don't have the year, get the ID no. from off the trans casing. A VIN would be nice if you cannot locate the ID no. on the trans. case.

from the outside, the 700r4 all the way up through the last 4l60e are mechanically interchangeable.. electronically and internally they do vary quite a bit.

Going to have to page TransMan for this one

but tl;dr there are differences, it depends on what model year and there are 3 major variations that we have to worry about for the year range of our trucks.
