Tow Cables
I wanted to get some towing cables for the winter and I picked up for $15 at AAAutopart store. Can haul 5,000 pounds and is 15' long. Walmart had a $20 that could haul 2,000 pounds o.O
5000 isn't really that much. Hope your not stuck in anything to bad. My 10,000 cheapy broke pulling my GFs TL out of a snow bank. Its the same as looking for a winch. Most guys wont even look at anything under 10,000lbs. Im gonna get 2 10,000 straps and use them together. 20,000lbs shackles on each end. It will rip the frame out before it breaks. lol
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but towing cables should only be used to tow another vehicle, NOT to pull a vehicle out of a snow bank or ditch.
You would be better off getting a couple of 2"X20' straps with the stiched loops, not hooks, rated at 20,000 lbs and spending the few extra dollars to get them. Personally, I would never use a cable with a crimped loop holding a hook for any kind of a pull.

Not cables, straps. This is just an example but you can find them for about half this price.

The future Brother in law actually tried using tie down straps
