Default Driver side door latch.. NEED HELP!

I just bought me a 2001 Blazer and the door is all screwie. I have all ready replaced the hinge pins. However, the previous owner tried slamming the door to much instead of just lifting on it a little bit and now the driver side door latch won't engage when you shut it. I have a replacement latch that I got from the junk yard but I had to destroy the window track and the bars that connect from the latch to the door handles to get it out. Anyone have an idea how to replace this so I don’t have to mess these parts? Or atleast a link that may help explain how to change it out. Thanks for your time and i appreciate all your help.
