tri track system for are trucks

anyone ever thought of having tracks on our trucks? well now we can, www.americantracktruck.com makes them just for us. check them out. i have emailed about the price however and it come in at 8,500 for a full set with the tracks and all. however if we could get this going i am in the process of negociating with them about a group buy type thing where we could get them cheeper. im not sure how much less they would be and i still wont be able to buy one but i think a company like this could be somewhere on our forum. some basics on the tracks.

tracks add 9inch of lift and 6inch of ground clearence
total weight is under 150 each
all 4 can be put on or takon off in less them an hour
they use regular snowmobile tracks 121inch so replacement is easy. all parts are designed to last a life time.
check them out for yourself

haha, they look sick, but not practical at all. especially when it costs more then the truck itself

butters 11-18-2009 05:54 PM

ya idk living here in nh i would buy a set if i could afford them, yes its a lot but how nice would it be to have that for the life of your truck? i will be buying a set when i can afford them. but thats probley a year or 2 off.

ABN31B 11-18-2009 05:57 PM

you would have to collective bargain the HELL out of them for me to afford a set ...
But it would be fun to baja around on a set of those. I have always wondered whats on the far side of Mt. Hood's glacier...

oktain 11-18-2009 06:52 PM

true, but you can have fun watching the people behind you getting stuck, lol.

packofqtips 11-18-2009 08:27 PM

whats the price?

ABN31B 11-18-2009 09:00 PM

$8500 bones. also the price of a newer 2500 Silverado.... :icon_really:

they would be fun offroading. the places normal people get stuck would be mild. the places the big boys get stuck would be a challange, and just think of how crazy the places you would get stuck would look :icon_teeth:

@cbr995: ROFL! that would do the trick me thinks :o

old skool luvr 11-18-2009 10:32 PM

see the problem i have is, i drive my Blazer just about anywhere i think it can go now.

if i had a set of those tracks, i'd have them on my truck 24/7, and would go everywhere, without a second thought about it. see that 3rd vid-with the blue Blazer going along the sled trail, that'd be me, but i'd have the truck buried up to the bumpers. wonder how well they'd work at that point? :icon_razz:

ABN31B 11-18-2009 10:37 PM

ok i have to say video one made me angry... wow a groomer. FFS! get one with it!

@ old skool luvr: watch it again. after he hits the first drop and burries the d side front, you notice that they cut to a later point in the vid..... everything will get stuck eventually :D

LOL. Good point.

I wonder if the track can be driven on the road? Such as a DD.

i noticed that, but what i'm asking is, how well would it get out of it? 'cause that wasn't even that deep. and i'm talking about burying the bumpers, not splashing them with mud!

my guess for the edit was the track toed down and got "caught" in the hole that was under the water.

i wonder how long they'd last driving on the street? and how long do you think you could get away with driving on these, before the local donut guys got ahold of you?

ABN31B 11-19-2009 01:00 AM

look at johnny 5! he did ok on streets! http://findmearobot.com/Pages/Johnny...nny%20five.jpg

^^:icon_lolsign: .....everyone will be calling you before they call a tow truck for a rescue

butters 11-19-2009 12:35 PM

as far as the street goes i would say it depend on your area. around here snowmobiles are more then welcome to drive down the road and most the cops wave. i could run them around here within 15/20 miles i would say without much problem.

also the tracks are regular sled tracks so replacing them is easy.

so it doesnt seem like anyone would acually buy a set besides me?

96Blazernut 11-21-2009 07:46 AM

I think the price scares away most people.
