the connecting rod breaking probably punched a hole in it. the clanking is the broken piston flying around inside the cylinder bore.
the motor probably let loose. It happens. How many miles were on it?

147,000.... you sure theres a piston flying around? are these symptoms normal for a piston and other parts letting loose etc?

you drove it with no oil and no oil pressure (judging from that first vid).. even if the rotating assembly was intact and not broken, that motor is shot. I'm honestly surprised it lasted that long.

well we drove it for a little, idk, there may have been some oil left in it

but hey, if that motors shot, you can bet theres going to be a hell of a video on here soon

Do i smell a V8 swap?
#28
ehh, i wish i could smell it, but every time i think " yeah, i want to do this" i get discouraged by the extra amount of effort that would have to be put in, like wiring harness, all the wiring, motor mounts, etc. I'm more likely to do a 4.3 build, with whatever beefed up internals i can get. Im not sure yet.

I'm also suprised you got as far as you did! When my rod bearing spun in my last engine, I got about a minute of runtime on the highway before she died. Do the V8 swap!!! I regret not doing it when I replaced mine.
