The '91 with the messed-up engine (needs to be rebuilt ) got 16 mpg surprisingly. Now the '95 that I just bought gets about the same-but I do mostly city driving.

I forgot to mention that our Jimmy has the 5 speed which is 3-4 mpg better that the automatic. Here in Canada the automatic has an $800 gas guzzler tax while the 5 speed costs $400. The only time the truck was under 20 mpg (Imperial) was when it was brand new with the worst being 17 mpg (Imperial).

Hey, what is the fuel cost in Canada? In Rhode Island, we are at $2.51 per gallon

For comparison of Imperial MPG to US MPG, 1 Imperial Gallon is 1.2 US Gallons. So for the above mpg, if you are getting 20mpg(Imp), that is ~17mpg(US). The aforementioned '05 Blazer getting 26.45mpg(Imp) is 22.04mpg(US).
Imperial gallon (of 160 Imp. fl. oz) 4.54609 L
US gallon (of 128 (US) fl. oz, 231 in^3) 3.78541 L
So if US gal = 3.78L & Imp gal = 4.54L, 1 Imp gal = 1.2 US gal.
On gas prices, Canadians typically pay MUCH more per gallon than those of us in the US. Your gas price is very good. I just paid $2.78/US gallon at Walmart with $0.03/gallon off. I'm in Central NY.

Just yesterday I paid $2.88/gallon of premium (92 octane) for the Bonneville. The price is going down now. Regular was $2.68/gallon yesterday at Wal-mart.
