General ChatChat about all things Blazer (and related vehicles). Off-topic stuff should be in the lounge, and all mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.
It's an aftermarket (AlloyUSA) shaft in a 9.5" 14-bolt semi-floater. It's a fairly stout axle, but rock crawling is pretty hard on them. I think I'm going to start saving my pennies to build a full-floater.
Used the winch on the front of the Blazer to lift the elk I shot yesterday across the bar I hung between two trees so I could skin it. I've been waiting six years to hang an elk on that bar at the house. In the past we have always hung deer and elk where ever camp was. I shot this one on the last morning hunt and brought it home to skin it.
Please tell me where I can get those rear light guards.
I lucked out and got them when I got my first brush guard. They are plastic, I have yet to see another pair like them.

that's awesome ! I miss hunting season up north... not the best smell gutting, but man is the meat fresh and tasty!!
I've been doing a long list of maintenance and repair items on a relatively new-to-me Blazer. Plan on taking it up to TN over Thanksgiving and do some trails at Windrock, so that'll be at least a 500 mile trek. If that doesn't test my work, nothing will!
I got the Blazer back in September and it had been sitting for quite a while. Used for short trips, but only had 126k on the clock, 10k of which occurred over the last 10 years (!!). Quick summary of the work I've done since bringing it home:
New CV axles
New shocks
New brake pads and rotors, replace one rear caliper that was frozen
Replace transfer case control module - kept going into limp mode
New 30"x9.5 General Grabber X3 tires
(2) new rims out of a parts yard with 30x9.5" BFG KO2s (score, will use these as spares).
Procure and install skid plates (all except the gas tank)
New wiper blades all around
Replace all 6 factory speakers
Fix driver electric seat control
This coming weekend is relatively light, I'm planning to drain/fill the transfer case and front and rear diff to have fresh fluids. Transmission fluid is topped up and looks good enough for now, same with brakes, coolant, and psf. Here's to hoping she holds up!

I love those tires! Have you had much experience with them?
