Thank, I have the hood painted as well but stashed away for protection. I am going to try and get the engine and transmission installed by the end of the week. I still need to strip, prime and paint the grill, inner fenders and the fenders. I have the engine all built out. 94 heads (89 S15 4.3L) with roller rockers and 1.51 rocker ratio, Edelbrock Intake, Edelbrock Roller Timing Chain, Edelbrock Valve Covers.and Edelbrock OBD 1 Chip.

Default ABS Plastic repair with acetone

I finished a repair of the underside of my center console lid by welding in additional pieces of ABS plastic using acetone. This will be a very useful new technique for me to use elsewhere.

The details are at my build thread: https://blazerforum.com/forum/builds...e9/#post740515

But here are the before and after pics:

Before pics with the cracks highlighted in the lower one.

After picture. I also added a reinforcement at the center of the outer edges which is where the main cracks originated.

I was able to get my engine and transmission mated together in preparation for installation.

I have used a similar technique to repair the binding on a les paul guitar during a refret. You melt some scrap binding, build up the area and shape to match.

I was able to install my engine and transmission as a unit. I had installed the Y-Pipe and the starter. Both had to be removed to get the clearances needed. In addition I also had to remove the engine mounts. Once the engine was over the mounting pads for the engine mounts I was able to install the mounts and insert the mounting bolt. This was still easier than installing the engine and transmission individually. I did not have to deal with the upper bell housing bolts. This is on my 89 S15 4.3L, Auto, 2dr, 2wd.
